Dominican Young Adults

DYA is a ministry of the Dominican Friars in Britain which seeks to help young adults flourish as children of God through solid formation and strong communities. Many of our activities in the UK are based out of the Frassati Centre in Leicester.

The Dominican tradition has always been characterised by the joy of a communal life rooted in Christ and searching for Truth. It is this vision for life that we seek to share with young adults, helping them to navigate a complex world with confidence in God’s saving plan. In Leicester we meet regularly to pray, study, and build community with other young Catholics.

Regular DYA Events

Fourth Wednesdays

Every fourth Wednesday of the month we meet for a time of prayer, formation, and fellowship. Together with the students, Jesus Youth, and the Nottingham Diocese Young Adults, we meet at 7pm for adoration, music, and confessions, then head into the Frassati Centre for a short talk and social Study Days – During the year we have study days on certain Saturdays, taking a deep dive into key topics for understanding our faith. Recent study days have looked at the sacrament of confession, and reconciling evolution with Catholic teaching.

Reading Group

We have fortnightly reading group that meets on Mondays at 7.45pm in the Frassati Centre. We are currently reading St Augustine’s Confessions. Please email dya@english.op.org if you would like to join.

Socials
